Dr. Weber earned an M.A. in speech communication at Kansas State University and a Ph.D. in communication at the University of Minnesota. In her dissertation, “Mars, Venus, and Nostalgia: How Therapeutic Rhetoric Romanticizes Cave and Kitchen”, she critiques the rhetoric of the prevalent Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus self-help series in a post feminist age.
Before coming to Penn in 2006, Dr. Weber taught a variety of communication courses and coached intercollegiate forensics (speech and debate) teams. At Penn, Dr. Weber teaches COLL-135. In this academically based community service (ABCS) course, CWiC advisors-in-training coach students at Girard College (grades K-12).
